Rally Class at Lucky Paws

Event Details

AKC Rally is a companion sport to AKC Obedience. It is teamwork between owner and dog as they move with an instructor thru a course at their own pace. The sport was designed with the traditional dog owner in mind, ,but can be challenging  for those who enjoy a little higher level of competition.

Rally course includes 10 to 20 signs depending on the level. Communication from owner to their dog is encouraged and perfect heel position is not required, but there should be a sense of teamwork and enthusiasm as they enjoy this bonding sport together.

This 6 week class is being taught by experienced Obedience and Rally instructors who have over 12 combined years of teaching in AKC.  Their dogs have earned many titles in AKC, UKC, and WCRL at numerous Rally trials with in the tri state area. Join them to enjoy this fun sport together.

Advance your dog’s education along with having fun together. We know your dog has many hidden talents and together you can obtain AKC titles for these talents.

We are offering a 6 week class where an AKC evaluator will be able to sign off on tricks as your dog learns them over the 6 weeks for the three levels of titles in the AKC Trick Dog. If your dog is already able to perform the required tricks for each title a time can be arranged to test your dog for these fun titles.

Freshman Scent Class

This “freshman” class is for all new-comers. In laying the building blocks for success, we first teach the game sniffing out a scent. This first class works mostly with treats, boxes and a small course. By the end of the six weeks, dogs will be introduced to their first scent, usually birch. Our Scent Classes are a recreational version of what you see police and military dogs do! This new sport is based on positive reward techniques and it is wonderful mental stimulation for your dog. Dogs that progress in their abilities can move on Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes to prepare for trials, testing, and titling.
