Pet Hotel Services Coordinator

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Full Time Pet Hotel Services Coordinator to join our team! This person will be responsible for ensuring the overall care and well-being of the animals at our pet hotel as well as assisting in the day to day business of the Hotel Office. We are looking for someone flexible and dependable and with a positive attitude that wants to help us grow our business.

  • Work closely with the Department Managers to ensure all tasks are being done efficiently and properly.
  • Will assist as needed in all departments, primarily pet care in the Hotel and the business of the Hotel Office.
  • A basic understanding of canine and feline health and work to ensure a high quality of animal health and welfare is maintained.
  • The ability to communicate with other staff members as well as Pet Parents in a clear, respectful, and concise manner.
  • Work with Department Managers and owner to keep track of and maintain inventory and maintenance issues.
  • Manage staff to ensure the facility is clean and held to the highest sanitation standards.
  • Follow and enforce safety and sanitation policies throughout the facility.
  • Assist Managers with the Interviewing, supervision, mentoring, and coaching of front line staff based on company standards and training guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • We would prefer previous experience in animal care operations but can train the right person with a strong managerial background with EXCELLENT communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. We are busiest when school is out. So Summer time and Holidays are the busiest times. Please do not apply if you go to the beach for 2 weeks every summer. We want our Pet Hotel Coordinator to vacation in January somewhere warm. We need your help during our busiest times.
  • Able to lift at least 50lbs and be on your feet for part to most of the work day. This is a PHYSICAL JOB.
  • Very flexible availability. Must be available (some) Evenings, Weekends (we strive for one weekend day off) and Holidays. THIS IS A 24/7, 365 days a week business. We NEVER FULLY CLOSE. No overnights required of this position.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle.
  • Must have great independent work ethic, organizational skills and time management skills. Must be comfortable around dogs, cats, and humans.

Part-Time and Full-Time Hotel Pet Technician Opportunities
  • Taking care of animals is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week, 365 days a year job. We love it when applicants tell us they understand and have flexible schedules, but we also know there are lots of dog and cat lovers out there that have other commitments such as families and school. Specific Job Skills:

  • Affection for animals, concern for their welfare, and a willingness to work hands-on with dogs and cats.
  • Energetic, with the ability and initiative to work independently. Working with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. The ideal person for this job would be personable, outgoing, patient, professional, and able to get along well with a variety of people.
  • Excellent oral communications skills.
  • Maturity, good judgment, and a professional personal appearance.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.
  • Flexibility, ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • The ability to remain pleasant and calm even in stressful situations.
  • The ability to ask appropriate questions to gather information along with the ability to feel and show empathy for others.
  • The ability to learn about and understanding each animal as an individual with his or her own personality, habits, past experiences, etc.
  • Familiarity with animals, knowledge of animal behavior or experience volunteering or working with a rescue group, humane society, foster care involvement or other animal welfare agency are a plus.
  • Comfort and ability to work with animals of unknown disposition
  • A valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License or the means to get to work without public transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to walk and/or stand on your feet throughout a normal workday required.
  • Physical ability to engage in repetitive motions of legs, arms, and hands, to hear, to see, to move animals and goods.
  • Allergic conditions, which would be aggravated when handling or working with animals, may be a disqualification.
  • Work involves kneeling, crawling, bending, walking, carrying objects and/or lifting animals that weigh up to 50 lbs., as well as holding or restraining a variety of animals of all shapes and sizes.
  • Work also involves using prescribed cleaning agents for extensive scrubbing of cages, surrounding areas and animal supplies.
  • Work setting can be noisy.
